During the spring seminar the 24 volunteers of Action Reconciliation Service for Peace traveled to Washington D.C. There were various programs at different facilities (Goethe Institute, German Embassy etc.) including discussions and simulation games about life in the United States and the work in the different projects. One of the days the volunteers had the opportunity to explore the US Holocaust Memorial Museum. They had discussions with a Holocaust survivor and also some of the museum staff regarding the Holocaust and the current situation in Darfur. Furthermore they discovered the different monuments of the Capitol of the USA and learned more about the political system in this country.
