Civic Education and Human Rights

Former volunteer Ruth Merkl at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, Washington, DC.

ARSP volunteers also work in educational agencies like Holocaust Centers and organizations that teach the significance of the moral choices we make today.

Placing volunteers in American peace organizations has been another important area of ARSP's work. The volunteers learn about the history and the practice of non-violence. They gain awareness of the connection between activism for peace and the struggle for social justice.

Our partner organizations for 2015-2016 are:

US Holocaust Memorial Museum | Washington, DC

American Jewish Committee | Washington, DC | New York City, NY

InterReligious Task Force on Central America | Cleveland, OH

Illinois Holocaust Museum | Skokie, IL

Holocaust Memorial Center | Farmington Hills, MI

Moment Magazine | Washington, DC

In previous years ARSP volunteers worked also in the following placements:

Earth Day Coalition | Cleveland, OH

Facing history and Ourselves | Boston, MA

Holocaust Center of Greater Pittsburgh | Pittsburgh, PA
